Prickett wins Merced Midget Main

by, Mark Sublett Merced, CA…..David Prickett from Fresno won the Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Main event Saturday night at Merced Speedway. Prickett took the lead using a higher line around the quarter mile clay oval than leader Colton Raudman was running to take the lead and go on to win using Ecotec power. The two traded the lead several times throughout the main event but the veteran Prickett used his experience to race out to comfortable lead when the checkered flag flew. Rookie Raudman finished a solid second followed by fellow rookie driver Kyle Mentch in third. Cameron Beard and 9 time BCRA Champion Floyd Alvis rounded out the field. Heat race winner Jake Andreotti came out for the main but had mechanical issues and did not start. Also at the track were Robert Carson, Gary Dunn and Brody Fuson who all had problems ending their nights early. Next race for the BCRA Midgets is at Stockton 99 Speedway May 29th.
